Declared as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2001.
The tombs of kings of Buganda in Kasubi, Kampala District are part of the famous historical sites in the region. Most of the site is an agricultural area, operated by traditional methods. Its centre on thr top of the hill is the firmer Kabala's palace of Buganda built in 1882 and transformed into a royalcemeteryin 1884. The essential meaning of the site however, lies in its in its intangible value of belief, spirituality, continuity and identity.
