OMG!! I can't believe my eyes. See what happened on this Famous Kampala Travelers Road Trip.

It was a rainy friday morning of September 24th, when the Bunyonyi Roadtrip team converged at Lugogo, Forest Mall for their departure to the Western region of Ankole and Kigezi. Even the rain could not stop us. We all arrived in time and by 8:30am East African time. All roads led to the South Western part of Uganda.

Our Friday destination was Bunyonyi-Kabale which is approximately a 7 - 8 hour drive from the Capitol, Kampala. A distance of 475 kilometres via Masaka - Mbarara road. On the journey, I was overwhelmed by how much everyone had good vibes. We interacted and talked about different topics, danced to music, sang along to many amazing songs. The most vibrant and happy people were Kaija, Twaha, Sheila and Marvin.

Big ups to the quadruple for spicing up our memorable trip.

We also had amazing stop overs along the highway at Gators Cafe, Mbarara Town and Kabale where we also took beautiful photos in memory of our breathtaking Bunyonyi Roadtrip.

BUNYONYI-KABALE:

After spending the whole day on the road indicating a successful well executed roadtrip, we finally arrived at our final destination in Bunyonyi at 8:45 pm East African time. We checked into the mesmerizingly beautiful Hawk's Eye Lodge.

Overlooking Africa's second deepest and the world’s third deepest lake, Hawk's Eye Lodge is nestled on Nyakabungo Hill which offers breathtaking views of the lake with a great dose of a cool breeze as your forever best travel therapy. The Lodge offers the following services; accommodation, restaurant and bar, camping, swimming, children's play ground, WIFI, private parking among others. My favorite experience was the campfire session.

LAKE BUNYONYI:

The lake is located in the South Western part of Uganda, Kabale district and its located at 1,962m above sea level. Its believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa with its deepest end approximately 900m. The lake is decorated with 29 islands and its about 25km long and 7km wide, covering an area of 61 square kilometres. Activities at Lake Bunyonyi include water tubing, hiking, boat rides, ziplining, birding and nature walks.

We spent Saturday doing charity in the Batwa community deep in the forests of Bwindi. I'll talk about this special community in my next write up. It was so much fun. You shouldn't miss out on it.

The Bunyonyi Roadtrip was a memorable great experience to us and on our way back on sunday, we had a major stop over in Igogo cultural center to view the Biharwe Eclipse Monument. The Biharwe Eclipse is believed to have taken place in the year 1520AD
